Any and all new players welcome at all levels. We are looking for new junior players at every age group so please come along and try us out even if you havent played before and the same goes for open age, we are looking for keen athletes who are willing to work hard and learn to play in any of the 3 teams we are looking to put out this year. There are opportunities to play at the highest amateur level and we found some new players last season who pushed right up the selection que so no reason why we cant do the same again this year.
The Pumas are currently making preparations for the start of the 2014 season which kicks off in March and are recruiting boys and girls at all ages from 6 years upwards. Also, for anyone 16 years and over, the Pumas are looking to find new players for their 3 open age teams and Masters (over 35s) sides, all levels of experience welcome from absolute beginners to players who wish to compete on a social or regional level right up to the Pumas 1st team who will be competing in the National Conference again in 2014 having received a National Fairplay award for 2013, the Pumas are continuing to grow and improved and are looking for players with dedication, desire and enthusiasm to compete in top ruby action throughout the March to October Summer season. Finally, the Pumas are looking for girls from 12 years to 16 to compete in the North East Rugby League and women from 16 years plus to put the Womens team together and compete against teams from various parts of the country.
Peterlee Pumas won the National conference league fair play award last night in Huddersfield. A huge even was very well attended at the packed out Cedar Court Hotel.
The NCL is has strict rules with regards to discipline and large fines and suspensions are handed out to those who cross the line and the Peterlee outfit had to hold their discipline whilst still developing in learning in a very tough division.
Peterlee are currently looking to recruit more Men's team players for the start of the campaign in March 2014 to put a much stronger effort in having finished bottom this year in their debut season, the work has already begun and pre season starts proper in January..
A New weekly get active section for anyone who has relatively inactive, wanting to start doing something again that is tailored to their own needs and work at their own pace.
Starting Wednesday 25th September at 19:30, will include different levels and aspects of fitness from gentle individual programs building over the 12 weeks progressively. There will also be group activities, running games to make the sessions as fun as possible with full support from fully trained and experienced coaches. All are welcome but we are particularly looking to men and women who are 40 plus and have been inactive for a while however if you are younger and have also been inactiv this may be just the thing you need to get you going again. Alongside these sessions we will be running fun rugby running games for intermediate and
advanced athletes which people can swap over to when they fell ready.
