PUMAS DEVELOPMENT SIDE 30 CRAMLINGTON ROCKETS 52

The Pumas played their first open age home game of the season
against the favourites for the Regional League Cramlington Rockets.  A very experienced and well drilled Rockets
side packed full of players who have been playing a high level of student Rugby
League all year took until the final 10 minutes to put the result in doubt.

In deed the youthful Pumas side did the club proud and in
fact took the lead opening the scoring through Standoff James Clark who is
returning from severe broken arm injury sustained last season.

The scores sea sawed with the Rockets drawing level and then
taking the lead themselves which set the scene for the whole game.  Tit for tat scoring through good attacking
play from both sides was countered with some brutal defence and both sides
showed enough to predict that they will go well in during the course of the
season.

With 10 to go there was only 10 points separating the sides
but Cramlington managed two back to back trys shifting the ball wide right on
both occasions to go in at the corners which seemed to skew the final result
but plenty to build on for the Pumas.
Man of the match Richard Arrowsmith.

Next Games 12th May, 1sts away to Sunderland,
Development side away to Hartlepool, both Kick off at 14:30.
