PUMAS AWAY TO RYHILL

Peterlee Pumas young open age side travelled to Dearn Valley Bulldogs ground yesterday to play a Ryhill Hammers in another of series of organised games the rebuilding Pumas Open Age setup are playing against heartlands sides.  Firstly thank you to Dearne Valley for their hospitality accommadating the game as Rhyhills was unavailable.  The game was played in blistering heat but in the righ spirit, both sides played the game in the right spirit.  Both sides displayed high skill and speed of play and there was plenty of physicality from both sides.  The young Pumas held their own and although the home side scored early on the Pumas hit back with a couple of thier own including a first open age from the young 18 year old, secondrower George Wall who is one to watch for the future.  The lead changed hands several times during the first half but Peterlee turned around 24 16 ahead.  Ryhill started the second half the stronger pulling back two well worked trys but going into the final quarter the Pumas playing with 2 out and and out centers and wingers for the first time all season started to get thier combinations righ and were able to break the home line in the middle and shift left oru right to thier strike runners.   A period of back to back touchdowns took the Puma haul up to 46 with 11 tries in total but just one converted.  Ryhill racked up a healthy 28 catching the Pumas in thier best form for quite some time.  More games arranged both home and away for Pumas Rugby Leage Club, if you are interested in getting involved in this greate set up, contact This email address is being protected from spambots.
